Matt Thomson

Matthew Thomson specializes in the brokerage of multifamily, mixed-use, and land development properties across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Over a 20-year career, he has facilitated more than 300 sales transactions, primarily involving acquisitions and dispositions of multifamily investment properties on the Peninsula and in the South Bay with a combined value exceeding $500 million. He also brokers triple-net exchanges both locally and nationwide, bringing deep expertise to complex investment deals. Prior to joining Compass Commercial, Matthew served as a Senior Managing Director with Newmark and as a Vice President with the multihousing group at Cushman & Wakefield, where he consistently ranked as a top broker. He launched his career in 2004 at Marcus & Millichap and is actively involved in the ownership and management of apartment buildings in the Bay Area, allowing him to offer clients practical insights into daily operations and key investment strategies. Matthew prioritizes long-term client relationships and community involvement, including participation in Team in Training and support for the Household Industry Foundation Emergency Housing Fund.
